Love Wycombe 2014

The 2014 Love Wycombe Pentecost celebration was held from 11 am to 12 noon on Sunday 8th June 2014.  This year we moved closer to the town centre, in Church Street (using the raised area outside All Saints Church as our stage).

In preparation there was a town centre prayer walk on Saturday 7th June 2014 from 6 am to 9 am, starting at All Saints Church.

This year we fund raised to support the new High Wycombe Debt Centre, set up in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP).  Over £4500 (plus some gift aid) was collected.  Here's what CAP is about:

You can find out more about the High Wycombe Debt Centre on our Working Together pages.

We were also higlighting Credit Unions.  Here's what credit unions are about:

Love Wycombe 2013

On Pentecost Sunday 19 May 2013 Christians from over 50 local churches gathered to worship with one voice at a celebration called Love Wycombe.   The celebration included hymns, songs, dancing, prayers and information about community projects run by the churches.  Over £4000 was collected for local charities, One Can Trust and Wycombe Youth for Christ.

Youth social action

As part of Love Wycombe 2014, we are re-launching ‘Fresh Noise’. This is an opportunity for secondary school age youth to engage in a day of social action in High Wycombe. We hope that we make a visible difference in our town as well as demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.

‘Fresh Noise’ will be taking place on Saturday 27th September 2014 from 9.30am – 2pm. This may involve gardening, removing graffiti, painting park equipment, and other ‘odd jobs’ which will serve the needs of our community.

Applications will be opening soon – watch this space!
